Reported by Rudi Hermawan | Translated by Rini Elvira
The Jakarta Abang None (Abnon) competition is not a talent scout as often seen on television. Therefore, Abnon winners are expected to do more roles in performing their duties and functions. And besides as culture and tourism ambassadors, Abnon winners are also ambassadors for drug abuse handling efforts among youths.
In the future, we will develop them to be public security and order ambassadors, including if there were social activities
“Actually, Abnon duties are various. As protocols, they must be more active in becoming hosts, such as by giving information to foreign guests in special occasions, and also as spoke person from Tourism Department,” stated Head of Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department, Arie Budhiman, Sunday (8/31).
Besides promoting Jakarta’s cultures and tourism sites both in domestic as well as abroad, Budhiman continued, Abnon winners are also crowned as anti-drugs ambassadors and traffic ambassadors.

According to Budhiman, Abang None are also allowed to join or attend in meetings held Jakarta Provincial Government.
